Vietnam, alongside other members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), is enhancing collaborative efforts to assist micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in embracing digital transformation and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to boost their productivity and competitiveness. In a recent workshop held in Hanoi, Vietnamese officials underscored the critical need to support these enterprises through technology transfer, the development of digital skills, and fostering innovation.
The gathering brought together a diverse group of participants, including representatives from APEC economies, international organizations, and leading technology firms. The focus of the discussions was on the integration of AI, the development of digital infrastructure, securing access to finance, and bridging the digital divide, which are essential aspects of digital transformation for MSMEs.
This workshop is a significant step in Vietnam’s preparations to host the APEC summit in 2027. As part of these preparations, participants are expected to formulate policy recommendations aimed at promoting the responsible use of AI and enhancing cooperation on digital economic initiatives across the region.
