Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov, speaking in India, highlighted the “futility” of the Ukraine conflict from the West’s perspective, claiming this reality is understood by Donald Trump but not by European leaders.
Alipov asserted that “Trump understands that this war is lost by Ukraine and the West.” He contrasted this with European nations, who he said “continue with their belligerence.”
He was sharply critical of Europe, labeling their hope for a Ukrainian victory as “childish behavior,” “craziness,” and “unprofessional.”
The ambassador then laid out the ultimate reason for this perceived futility: Russia’s nuclear weapons. He stated that defeat is not an option for Moscow.
“We have in our doctrine that if there is an existential threat to us, there is a possibility of its use,” Alipov said, explicitly connecting the war to Russia’s nuclear red lines as the nearly four-year conflict continues.
