During a state visit to Russia, Vietnam’s General Secretary and President Tô Lâm, accompanied by his spouse Ngô Phương Ly, were officially welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a ceremony held in the Grand Kremlin Palace’s St George’s Hall. The occasion began with the exchange of greetings between the leaders, followed by the playing of the national anthems of both nations. The ceremony also featured the introduction of members from each country’s official delegation.
Subsequent to the formalities, President Tô Lâm and President Putin engaged in discussions and oversaw the signing of several bilateral cooperation documents. The leaders then addressed the media, underscoring the importance of their countries’ long-standing relationship. For over 75 years, Vietnam and Russia have shared a traditional friendship, distinguished by a high degree of political trust.
