This victory not only extends their streak of podium finishes to four consecutive Games but also secures their spot in the women’s volleyball tournament at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Competing at Park Arena Komaki, Thailand triumphed over South Korea with a confident 3-0 victory, posting set scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-23. Despite South Korea’s strong start in the opening set, Thailand quickly rallied with effective offensive plays and robust serving, gaining control midway through and taking the set 25-20.
The second set saw a competitive beginning with South Korea briefly leading at 11-9. However, Thailand’s intensified attack proved too strong as they recovered to seize the set at 25-19. South Korea’s efforts to regain the upper hand in the third set were met with equal resilience from Thailand. The teams battled closely until Thailand reached match point at 24-23, ultimately clinching the set and the bronze medal after a South Korean error.
