Thai sprinter Puripol Boonson has successfully advanced to the men’s 100m semi-finals at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games. Boonson secured his spot by winning his qualifying heat with an impressive time of 9.95 seconds at the Mizuho Park Athletic Stadium in Japan.
In the women’s 100m category, two Thai athletes have also made their mark. Jirapat Khanonta emerged victorious in her heat, setting a personal-best time of 11.45 seconds to secure her advancement to the semi-finals. Sukanda Petraksa also earned her place by finishing third in her heat with a time of 11.54 seconds.
The competition continues with the women’s 100m semi-finals scheduled for September 25, followed by the men’s semi-finals on the same day. These upcoming races promise to build on the excitement generated by the athletes’ performances in the qualifying rounds.
